Fascinating book on cognitive traps. Make no mistake: this is a book about magic, and reveals how human choices are subject to manipulation by circumstances (whether spontaneous or created).

p. 342 - "Except for the very poor, for whom income coincides with survival, the main motivators of money-seeking are not necessarily economic. ... [M]oney is a proxy for points on a scale of self-regard and achievement...[tahat] are all in our heads."
p. 390 - "Odd as it may seem, I am my remembering self, and the experiencing self, who does my living, is like a stranger to me." (Of course, Gary Weber and the non-dualists would argue that this doesn't have to be the case!)
