The Committee met on 4th April 1921 and the undermentioned members, after some consideration, kindly consented to prepare notes on the various castes :—

Mr. S. S. Mehta.-The Castes of Gujarat and
Kathiawad.

Dr. P. N. Daruwala-A summary of the 3 High Court
Cases alluded to by Mr. Rothfeld in his letter of
26th March 1921.

Some information on the subject was supplied to Mr. Rothfeld. Communications.-At the 10 meetings, the following papers were read :

New President.-As the President, Mr. Otto Rothfeld, I.C.S., was going on long leave, he resigned his office of President. The Hon. Mr. C. A. Kincaid, I.C.S., has been elected President of the Society.

Journal. The following Journals were published during the year under report :-Journals Nos. 6, 7, and 8 of Vol. XI.

Presents.-Journals and Reports of learned Societies and other publications have been received in exchange for the Society's Journal and otherwise as usual during the year under report.

Finances :-The invested fund of the Society stood at Rs. 5,500 and the cash balance at Rs. 34-2-2 on the 31st December 1921.
