Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the

wilderness to be tempted of the Devil..... 26

And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in

their synagogues, and preaching, the gospel

of the kingdom, and healing all manner

ST. MATTHEW viii. 1, 2.

When he was come down from the mountain,

great multitudes followed him; and behold,

there came a leper, and worshipped him,

saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make

And when he was entered into a ship, his dis-

ciples followed him; and behold, there arose

a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that

the ship was covered with the waves: but

he was asleep..

And he entered into a ship, and passed over

and came into his own city; And behold,

they brought to him a man sick of the palsy,

lying on a bed: and Jesus, seeing their faith,

said unto the sick of the palsy: Son, be of

good cheer: thy sins be forgiven thee.... 205

While he spake these things unto them, be-

hold, there came a certain ruler, and wor-

shipped him, saying, my daughter is even

now dead; but come and lay thy hand upon

her, and she shall live
