About the author (2005)

Professor Keshishoglou (Ph.D. Syracuse University) is a Visiting Professor in the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Professor Emeritus at Ithaca College, Ithaca, New York. His tenure as an academic spans some 40 years, specializing in the electronic and broadcast media, development communications and instructional design. Professor "Kesh" is the founder and the first dean of the Roy H. Park School of Communications at Ithaca College. He served as professor and chairman of the Department of Television-Radio, and is the founder and director of the College's Instructional Resources Center. He established 11 similar centers internationally. He is a three-time recipient of senior Fulbright research awards. He consults and travels extensively on behalf of the U.S. Information Agency, the U.S. Agency for International Development, and the United Nations (UNDP, UNESCO, UNFAO). He is the author of three books, has published extensively in journals, and has produced and directed educational films and documentaries.

Pieter Aquila is an Assistant Professor in the School of Communication and Information, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She is a scriptwriter and director, and she has lectured extensively in both media production and theory in the Asia-Pacific over the last 15 years. Her novel, Daughters of the Mob, was a finalist for the 1997 Vogel Award for literature, and she has won a range of awards, including an AWGIE nomination for her film, television, and video work. Her internationally broadcast work includes Water Rats, Heartbreak High, Totally Wild and E Street. Dr. Aquilia has lectured at UTS, Macquarie, Curtin and Edith Cowan Universities in Australia. Her qualifications include Doctor of Creative Arts (UTS), MA (Curtin), BA (Australian Film, Television and Radio School) and BA (Curtin). She is a regular consultant for Radio Television Brunei.
